Hello and welcome to OGN Weekly, a brand new non-opinionated newsletter that reports on everything OGN from the past week. As this is the first issue, we'll be reporting on things that have happened in the past month.We also intend to host competitions, giveaways, interviews, and much more. OGN Weekly will be released every Saturday, every week (duh)!
We follow a usual format of:

What happened this month?
There's a lot to catch up on from the past month. The staff team has seen a major shake-up, with significant promotions, new Helpers joining the team, and one notable departure. On the technical side, the network experienced a brief but total outage, and players on RPG have been dealing with persistent lag. We also saw a PVP tournament scam affect a community member, and several key moderation actions were taken. On a positive note, the SMP world has been expanded and several long-standing command bugs have finally been fixed across the network. It has been an eventful month! Technical difficulties (when are there not), staff changes, a large scam attempt, and updates.The FainNeito situation
In one of the month's most significant staff changes, FainNeito was demoted from Moderator. This was later followed by a permanent mute on the Discord after somecontroversy surrounding the decision.
The network-wide outage
For those who tried (and failed) to login on the 26/27th August, you weren't going crazy. The entirety of OG Network went down due to the main server (hosting thewebsite and proxy) went down. It took around one hour for it to be restored.
Sfxm unbanned???
Notable abuser Sfxm (with nearly two pages of punishments) was unbanned by FainNeito. We do not know why they were unbanned, but they were later re-banned permanently.Various performance issues on RPG
In classic OGN fashion, RPG has been experiencing some performance issues. The server had been experiencing various moments of persistent lag and low TPSmoments. Shown in the image below, you can see the fluctuation of TPS across the 24th August. These low TPS moments caused some crashes and various moments
of downtime for RPG.

The PVP Tournament Scam
A serious scam attempt targeted OG Network between July and August. It was centered around a PVP Tournament, where the scammers would get players to entertheir account details and authentication codes. Fortunately, the staff team alerted the community and took necessary actions to mitigate the attack. However, one
player would fall victim.. Jacco. Jacco lost access to the email, Minecraft, and Discord accounts and now uses the Rriffo account.
Chromatic_Prism's Fairgrounds Event
Prism hosted a three week event at the "Fairgrounds": an area at the front of the market that held various events.During the first week, we saw a parkour challenge, open submissions for a mapart and stall competition, and a marketplace for maparts.
Following into the second week, the parkour and stall submissions were removed in place for the Raffle!
And finally in the third week, voting opened for the mapart and stall competitions.
The raffle winners:
Out of 54 people and over $600,000 given out:
- guardian10__ won a double chest of diamond blocks, elytras, and Netherite
- snickered won $220k and a Heart of the Sea
- Aquarium won full Netherite Sets, Tridents, Emeralds, Totems, Enchanted Books

We have a few content updates that have been well-received:- /ping is finally fixed (why was this gone)
- /block and /ignore is now fixed on SMP (again, why was this not working)
- /joindate (used to be /firstj) is fixed (yay)
- SMP border increased by 15k blocks by Epic (yay?)
