Civilizations Factions Season 2 Beta Announcement​

This is not a drill.

The Development Process​

Since Factions Season 1 ended in late 2024, we’ve spent two years grinding through a complete architectural overhaul.

Initially, we tried to build on our existing foundation, but legacy code and infrastructure issues made it clear that we couldn't guarantee a stable experience. We made the choice to scrap the old build and start from scratch.

What you’re about to play is a complete rewrite. We have built a fully custom Factions plugin, rewritten our Bosses, overhauled Civilization handling and Dungeons, and built a new KOTH system. Over 500 project tasks, 400+ code commits, and 60,000+ lines of code have been tracked over the development cycle.

To the community: Thank you for keeping the pressure on us. Your feedback during early testing and your refusal to let this project fade away kept us going.

The Beta Roadmap​

We are running the Beta in structured stages. Full details, focus areas, and specific objectives for each session will be published as they begin.

Private Beta​

The Dev server will be capped at 30 players, Faction Rank Holders, Players involved in the development & Staff will bypass the player cap. This phase is about structured testing of isolated core systems like Bosses, Economy, and Factions internals before they are integrated into a live environment.

Bug Bounty​

A Bug Bounty program will be active throughout the Beta. Those that are lucky to get in, you will have an early lead on submissions. Full details, rules, and rewards will be posted when the Private Beta officially begins.

Public Beta​

Once private testing concludes and critical issues are resolved, we will open the doors to everyone. The Public Beta will run as a full Mini Factions map. While the private sessions are about precision, the public phase is about volume, testing how the server handles high player counts, constant activity across all systems at once, and finding any remaining issues.

Final Word​

We knew this would take longer than expected. We hit setbacks that would have buried other projects and made hard calls that cost us months of work, but here we are!
