RPG-SMP 2.3 Update - Arcade Unleashed

Our newest update marks a major turning point for RPG-SMP, introducing deep foundational upgrades that push far beyond what Minecraft was ever meant to do. With it comes a massive wave of brand-new items and blocks, opening the door to entirely new ways to play, build, and explore.

🔹 Removal of PvP Arena

The hill has fallen and the PvP Arena is in ruins!

We've made the difficult decision to remove the PvP Arena for the time being. While PvP support was dropped at the beginning of the season and a very simple arena was kept for those who still wanted to participate, we are now removing it completely until we release a more polished PvP system that integrates with our classes system and other features.

🔹 Return of Nightmare Dungeon

After far too long, we're officially bringing back the famed Nightmare Dungeon! With a revised build and gameplay loop, it feels like an entirely new dungeon.

🔹 New Build

What's behind the door?

🔹 No More Rounds

We've changed how the dungeon works. Instead of a round-based system, it is now timer-based, meaning you must survive the chaos for a set duration.

🔹 All New Mobs

We've revamped most of the mobs found in Nightmare, increasing their difficulty and applying lessons learned from previous mechanics.

🔹 Revamped Boss Fight

We've redesigned the Nightmare Boss, adding new mechanics and an extra layer of difficulty to make the fight longer and more intense.

🔹 Boss Fight Kill Requirement

We've made a requirement for each player to reach a certain number of kills to qualify for the Dungeon Boss fight.

🔹 More Playtime Rewards

We've added additional playtime rewards for our most dedicated players.
Hours AmountReward Desc.
1,750$5,000,000 + 500 Petals
2,000NOTABLE tag + 1,500 Petals
2,250$10,000,000 + 750 Petals
2,500FAMOUS tag & join message + name in hall of fame + 2,500 Petals

🔹 Introducing Custom Items

The future is here!

We are finally introducing Minecraft Resource Pack technology, allowing us to expand our creativity tenfold by adding new items, blocks, mobs, and more. For this initial release, however, we are scaling things back slightly and starting with basic cosmetic items.

🔹 Plushies

How cute!

We've added a new decorative block called Plushies, available in a wide range of mob types, including some of our staff members and notable players.

🔹 Hats

We've added decorative helmets called Hats! They function just like regular helmets, they can be enchanted, repaired, etc. But also feature unique textures and, in some cases, animations.

🔹 Cosmetic Crates

We are introducing a new crate system called Cosmetic Crates. This RNG-based system rolls a "tier," and based on the result, you receive a random reward (with equal odds) from that tier's loot pool.

These crates will function similarly to our LootBox system. New crates will release every month with variations in loot pools. The "common tier" cosmetics will largely persist across crates, with new additions over time, while higher-tier loot pools may include limited-time cosmetics that will rotate out and may not return for a while.

Our first crate will be the Spring Cosmetic Crate, containing 173 cosmetic items, primarily Plushies and Hats.

As this is a new system, we'd love your feedback! Let us know what you think and what we can improve.

This is a special-edition cosmetic hat that can only be claimed by 50 players.

🔹Unique Items

Some cosmetics and other obtainable items will feature "editions" along with a timestamp indicating when the item was generated.

When you click the item in any menu, it will display text in chat verifying that it is a legitimate "editioned" item.

🔹 Bedrock Compatibility Warning

For this update, Bedrock compatibility is not yet fully polished. However, since Bedrock players represent a minority of our player base, it did not make sense to delay the update. There may be some visual issues for Bedrock players, but we are actively working to improve resource pack support for them.
