After a longer-than-expected development cycle, we essentially started from scratch. I'm proud to announce we are resetting our RPG-SMP gamemode, and here is what to expect.

Closing Day

We will be closing the RPG-SMP gamemode on May 30th, 2025 at:
  • 7PM EST
  • 11PM GMT
  • 9AM ET (aussie time)
  • 4PM PST

Launch Day

We will open RPG-SMP Season 2 on June 1st, 2025, at the same time as stated above.

Major Changes

A lot has changed in Season 2, because we started from scratch to do things the right way, and some things may not look or feel the same as they once were. This time, we focused on the user experience. Making things work well and look nice.

A New Spawn

7uIsQDt.png

Spawn in Season 1 was really cramped. We took a new approach, made a bigger spawn and overall made it less cramped while still providing all the signature npcs that were in the Season 1 spawn.

Classes Overhaul

8xAeHYR.png

We completely overhauled the class system to work overall smoother than before, while keeping the same classes and mostly the same abilities with some nerfs. These changes include the following:

Rogue

  • Swift Sneak 5 ability now applies a temporary Swift Sneak 5 enchant to your leggings (if applied), rather than an Attribute Modifier
  • Removed the "Left-Click Bow to Shoot Arrow" portion of the Signature Ability
  • Nerfed Bow Damage from 65% to 50% for the Signature Ability
  • Nerded the Bow Damage from 20% to 10% for the Passive Perks
  • The Bow Damage perk now includes Crossbows

Shogun

  • Changed 0 Fire Damage Perk to an Infinite Fire Resistance Potion Effect
  • Changed the No Attack Cooldown portion of the Signature Ability to apply to swords only, meaning you will only have no attack cooldown while using a sword

Druid

  • Removed the Infinite Strength 2 Perk
  • Removed the -15% Damage Perk
  • Changed the Jump Boost Potion Effect to apply instantly on sneak (previously took roughly 5 seconds)
  • Removed the -50% Damage portion of the Signature Ability
  • Reduced the Strength Potion Effect potion of the Signature Ability from 3 to 1
  • Changed how the additional hearts work. Instead of being an Attribute Modifier, it's now a Health Boost Potion Effect
  • Added +20% Damage while using Maces

Cleric

  • Removed the "Regeneration 1 Potion Effect Until Damage Taken" Perk
  • Raised Right-Click Teleport Distance to 8 (previously 5)
  • Changed Right-Click Teleport Perk to apply to Axes only
  • Added a new Signature Ability perk which gives surrounding players Regeneration 3

Reset Token Changes

gF3PJ8j.gif

Added a sleek UI to Class Reset Tokens so you can choose between your primary and secondary class to reset.

BossBar Cooldown Changes

vXLmXfp.png

Both primary and secondary Signature Ability cooldowns are shown in bossbars, and for the full duration of the cooldown.

Signature Ability Activation Changes

  • Removed the ability to use "Double Jump" as a method of activating a Signature Ability
  • Added the following new methods of activating a Signature Ability
    • Shift+Left-Click (already existed)
    • Shift+Right-Click NEW
    • Jump+Shift+Left-Click NEW
    • Jump+Shift+Right-Click NEW
  • Added the ability to change how you can activate your Signature Abilities

Other Changes

  • Both primary and secondary classes will now display properly in the tab and above the name.
  • The Signature Ability Cooldown formula has been changed. The base cooldown duration is 100 seconds, and it gets reduced by 5 seconds per level for a maximum cooldown of 1m 35s (after the Signature Ability duration).
  • The Signature Ability Duration formula has been changed. The base duration is 5 seconds and is increased by 3 seconds per level for a maximum of 20 seconds duration.

Playtime Rewards

A big part of Season 1 was playtime and playtime rewards, we changed this system significantly to still value playtime while also scaling for basically infinite rewards and is no longer limited to the ~400-hour playtime cap that was in place before, as a lot of people surpassed that.

These are the new rewards for playtime:
Every 2 Hours5 Petals
12 Hours$100,000
24 Hours20 Petals
50 Hours$500,000
100 Hours75 Petals
250 HoursDedicated Tag + 100 Petals
500 Hours250 Petals
1,000 HoursNo Life Tag + 500 Petals

You can also view these rewards at any time using /playtime ingame.

The Economy

A hot topic on RPG is its famous economy. We revamped the entire economy, with a new refurbished UI to go along with it. We extensively tested it with multiple baltop users from Season 1 for extended periods.

No More Spawners

Spawners are no longer obtainable in the Admin Shop, and will only be obtainable through Dungeon Crates (see Dungeons section for more information)

Spawners will also be limited to a 10 stack per spawner block, and on top of that be limited to 5 individual spawner blocks per chunk. Which at most you can have 50 spawners in one chunk.

AutoSell Chest Expansion

We are expanding on the AutoSell Chest system to include four variants of AutoSell Chests based on tiers, obtainable in the PetalShop.

TierSell RateProfit-Loss Rate (money reduction)
Tier 12 minutes50%
Tier 21 minute30%
Tier 320 seconds10%
Tier 410 seconds0% (None)

Introducing SellWands

While not technically introducing SellWands as they were a feature in Season 1, they were not used and were frankly garbage. Our new approach for SellWands makes them incredibly valuable for players looking to dominate baltop!

SellWands now include a Sell Multiplier! SellWands are one of the only methods of obtaining a boost in profit from anything you sell, but in turn have more limited uses before breaking. We have 3 tiers of SellWands.

TierMultiplierUses
Fair1.25x15
Delightful1.5x20
Exceptional2.0x25

Jobs Return

After a long absence from the server, Jobs makes its return. Why only work a real-life job when you can work a job in Minecraft as well?

The following jobs are now available:
  • Beekeeper
  • Breeder
  • Brewer
  • Builder
  • Crafter
  • Enchanter
  • Explorer
  • Farmer
  • Fighter
  • Fisherman
  • Glider
  • Gourmet
  • Hunter
  • Lumerjack
  • Miner
  • Runner
  • Smelter
  • Swimmer
  • Tamer

Rune System Overhaul

Most of the overhaul is internal and you won't notice much of a functional difference, but we also redid some of the appearances of the existing Runes, and also gave the guis a glowup and fixed a common bedrock-edition issue where they could not view runes.

A New Rune Rises

I'm happy to say we have a new Rune in town, as shown in some teasers, we have Custom Enchants! Please view the Custom Enchants section for more information on all the Custom Enchants.

This new Rune is called the Omni Rune, and is the only way to obtain Custom Enchantments and apply them to your items!

How To Obtain

Unlike other Runes, the Omni rune is more exclusive and more difficult to obtain. You can only obtain this Rune in our new Nightmare Dungeon by killing mobs. The Omni Runes from killing mobs in the Dungeon are not directly put into your inventory, they are sent to your Dungeon Vault to be collected at any time.

Custom Enchants

We've added Custom Enchants to the game! You can only obtain Custom Enchants through Omni Runes. Please view the Omni Rune section of the post to figure out how to get Omni Runes!

Here are the new Custom Enchants with a description of their functionality:

Dungeons Overhaul

Dungeons have undergone a huge revision, mainly focused on the difficulty of each Dungeon. They were extremely easy last season, and our new approach makes them many times more difficult!

Dungeon Vault

ns4I6HT.png

We introduced a system called Dungeon Vaults, primarily intended for players to collect Omni Runes from playing Dungeons as winning Omni Runes in Dungeons do not automatically withdraw into your inventory.

You can also collect Money and EXP you've earned from Dungeons in the Dungeon Vault as well

A New Dungeon

A new Dungeon comes to the server, welcome the NIGHTMARE DUNGEON!

4ZP0RYg.png

This new Dungeon brings a whole new level of difficulty on top of the difficulty update made to the rest of the Dungeons, while also allowing you to obtain Omni Runes, which allows you to obtain Custom Enchants!

This Dungeon will not be available to play on launch and will launch between 1-2 weeks after the season launch due to time constraints and us wanting more time to make it as miserable as possible :)

Dungeon Crates

vVPj147.png

For a further incentive to play Dungeons, we're introducing Dungeon Crates! The main reward of the Dungeon Crates is various Spawners, but they can also include a little bit of money and a little bit of Petals.

How to Obtain Dungeon Crates

By completing and winning a Dungeon, you will receive a virtual key of the difficulty of the Dungeon you played. The higher the difficulty of the Dungeon you play, the better the rewards are.

World Specifics

Overworld 40k x 40k
Nether 20k x 20k
End 30k x 30k

The End will be closed on release and will open a week after launch.

New Cosmetics

We will be introducing new types of cosmetics and will also frequently update the Petal Shop and Server Store with new and limited time/seasonal cosmetics.

Join & Quit Messages

While already existing in Season 1, we're going to make them purchasable and introduce new join messages you can select.

Statuses NEW!

o2DJ7jh.png

A new and cool cosmetic has arrived! They are called Statuses (or Titles if you prefer), they are an above-name tag that you can select from a variety of different statuses we provide, there will be frequent additions to this, introducing limited-time/seasonal statuses

Tags

While also not new, we will be introducing chat tags into the PetalShop, which will also be frequently updated with limited-time/seasonal chat tags.

NON-RNG Crates

We're introducing a new form of Crates, something not really seen before and this requires a bit of explanation.

What are NON-RNG Crates

NON-RNG Crates are the typical crates but without the random-based system that is standard in Minecraft Servers. The way the system will work is that rewards in these Crates will cost crate keys to redeem. You have full control over what you can get from the crates, as it's not rng-based, some rewards cost more or fewer keys than others to make them harder to obtain.

How can NON-RNG Crates be Obtained?

We will be offering NON-RNG Crate Keys on the Server Store and Petal Shop in various bundles of various sizes.

If you have any questions regarding this feature, please don't hesitate to ask, and we'll be glad to address any concerns you may have.

ArmorStand Customization

We've changed the way we do AmorStand Customization. Instead of the old /astools command, you now need to use a Flint item to customize the ArmorStand.

Here is a short video on some of the basics of customizing an ArmorStand:

ARMORSTAND CUSTOMIZATION IS STILL A CELESTIAL PERK

Minor Changes

  • The AFK Room now uses a new plugin, which isn't garbage :)
  • The kit system has a fresh new UI!
  • Added a new suite of Quests
  • Removed the ItemShop system in favor of the PetalShop & NON-RNG Crates
  • PvP is disabled server-wide, besides the PvP arena
  • Single-handedly removed Herobrine
  • Changed RTP Distance from 1,000 to 10,000 radius
This post is subject to change as we make last-minute bug fixes and changes to some things, so some features may not exactly work as described from when you initially read the post in case we decide to change something last minute.
